Congresses and conventions represent an essential economic factor for Innsbruck. Innsbruck Tourismus has therefore been supporting and promoting scientific conferences, conventions and congresses since 1992, provided that they meet specific guidelines. Funding applications must be submitted prior to the event. Applicants are required to meet the following binding convention subsidy guidelines.
NEW CONGRESS subsidies IN THE INNSBRUCK REGION
In order to strengthen Innsbruck as a congress and conference location, representatives of Innsbruck Tourism and the City of Innsbruck have agreed on a higher funding budget. Thanks to this cooperation, 100,000 euros (50,000 euros each from both partners) will be available in future to promote scientific conferences and congresses in Innsbruck, with special attention being paid to green events.
If all criteria are met, up to 12,000 euros can be awarded as funding for a congress. A specially installed congress funding advisory board meets regularly to discuss and award the applications submitted.
