Götzens is located on a sunny mountain plateau just seven kilometres outside of Innsbruck. The village is home to several listed farmhouses from the 17th and 18th centuries. A special feature: the "Mittertennhof" style farms with their characteristic gables and bay windows. The weathered circular wall of the Vellenberg castle ruins also has a few years "under its belt". The current residential building is from the 20th century and overlooks the surrounding landscape from a hill at the entrance to the village.

An ideal location between two hiking destinations

Götzens is located between two hiking resorts: Muttereralm and Axamer Lizum. It is well-worth visiting the idyllic Götzner Alm mountain hut. This popular hiking destination can be reached directly from the village and in winter, it becomes a sought-after natural toboggan run. Anyone looking for more action, should check out the challenging downhill tracks on the Götzens side of Bikepark Innsbruck.

An ideal location between two ski resorts

Götzens is an ideal base for anyone who wants to explore the mountains in winter. Getting up into the mountains is easy thanks to the Nockspitzbahn gondola. The bottom lift station is located directly in the village and is easy to reach on foot. The lift takes you up to Pfriemesköpfl at 1,800 metres above sea level, where you can enjoy views of Nockspitze (the mountain the lift is named after) and the nearby Olympic resort of Axamer Lizum.
