A sunny spot on Patscherkofel mountain with views of Innsbruck and the Nordkette mountain range. The village is a good starting point for hikes, close to the ski slopes of Patscherkofel ski resort and home to bike trails up to idyllic mountain huts. Igls is an equally nice place to visit in both summer and winter. Everything is possible from ski holidays to bobsledding down an Olympic ice track. In summer, there are plenty of enticing hikes and a modern riding centre that offers hacks through the picturesque landscapes of the surrounding alpine plateau.
Event highlights summer
During the summer months, popular church concerts are held at the parish church in Igls and open-air concerts are regularly performed by local bands in the old school garden behind Igls Tourist Information.

The "Christmas in the mountains" celebration on 23 December provides a large dose of Christmas spirit. All of Igls comes together for the event when 200 angels, shepherds and animals accompany a sleigh carrying Mary, Joseph and the Christ Child through the village.
